The Regional Chamber welcomes Robert Schlaeger of Foxconn Technology Group to keynote its annual Salute to Business Breakfast! Join us in welcoming Schlaeger, chief of staff to the vice president of Foxconn--which is celebrating 50 years in business!--and showing our appreciation for the company's investment of hundreds of millions of dollars and employment of hundreds in our Valley.
At this annual event, we will also honor several business leaders with special awards and recognize Brookfield native Sarah O'Brien our Valley Champion Award. O'Brien is a highly acclaimed pastry chef who now owns a chain of Little Tart Bakeshop locations in Atlanta. She has been featured by numerous food, business and mainstream media outlets. Growing up on a 100-acre farm among a family of home cooks and bakers, she seemed destined for the culinary life. She says when she turned 10, her grandmother walked to her house with a rolling pin and bag of apples and said she was now old enough to bake pie. And bake, she did, later falling in love with French pastries during a trip to Paris in her teens, landing a teaching fellowship in Paris and convincing bakers at Au Levain du Marais to let her stage.
As Salute To Business is the Chamber's official kickoff to the holiday weekend, we'll continue the tradition of a 'warmup' with Youngstown State University Head Football Coach Doug Phillips, as he previews the upcoming Penguins football season, and learn about what's new at the 178th Canfield Fair.
