2024 Washington D.C. Fly-In

6/26/2024 - 6/27/2024

Description

This year's Fly-In returns to the Nation's Capital with energized support! Our community and business leaders will descend on the Hill and with one voice to raise up the Valley's top public policy issues critical for the continued growth and success of the region. The D.C. Fly-In is shaping up to be a fantastic experience! We have once again gained access, thanks to Congressman Dave Joyce, to the exclusive Members Room inside the historic Library of Congress. This room is used by Congress, the Senate and Presidents for important meetings to avoid the attention at the Capitol and the White House. It also has the bonus of being a stunning venue overlooking the U.S. Capitol.

The agenda is well underway, and we will provide details in the weeks to follow. An overview of our two days in D.C. includes:

Our Priorities

  • The Chamber supports applications for House and Senate Appropriations from our members and partners who would benefit by providing essential funding for public services, infrastructure projects and local development initiatives, thereby enhancing the quality of life and economic stability.
  • The Chamber supports the Youngstown Air Reserve Station, the Valley’s second-largest employer, and their request for Fiscal Year 2025 from the Future Years Defense Program for a critical fire station to meet the Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) and Air Force standards.
  • The Chamber supports applications to the Appalachian Regional Commission, which provides innovative funding opportunities for our members and partners from funds such as the ARISE Grant, the INSPIRE Grant and the POWER Grant.
  • The Chamber supports applications for the Inflation Reduction Act from our members and partners that will provide tax incentives for clean energy investments, thereby reducing operational costs and fostering sustainable and competitive growth.
