Lattes with Legislators with Bill Beagle, Executive Director of the Ohio Housing and Finance Agency

A dedicated public servant, Bill Beagle joined the Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA) as the executive director in January 2025. He will lead the Agency and its administration of state and federal funding to develop affordable rental housing for low-to moderate-income Ohioans and its homebuyer assistance programs. Prior to joining OHFA, Bill served as the senior director of policy and program administration for the Ohio Treasurer of State, where he led policy development, legislative initiatives, and several programs. Recently, Bill was part of the team that developed the Ohio Homebuyer Plus program, which provides above-market interest rates and tax deductions for Ohioans saving for a down payment on a home. Bill served eight years in the Ohio Senate representing the 5th District, comprised of Miami and Preble Counties and portions of Darke and Montgomery Counties. During his time in the Ohio Senate, he chaired the Workforce Development Committee and the Public Utilities Committee; served on the Finance Committee, Ways and Means Committee, the Health and Medicaid Committee. He also chaired the Ohio Aerospace and Aviation Technology Committee and the Ohio Commission on Fatherhood, and he served on the Ohio Third Frontier Advisory Board and the Governor’s Executive Workforce Board. As senator, he was recognized for his work by the Ohio Library Council, the Ohio Adoption Planning Group, VentureOhio, Ohio Farm Bureau and others. In 2002, he started his own apartment rental company, after a career in banking and finance. A resident of Tipp City, Ohio (Miami County), Bill served as President of City Council, on the Tipp City Library Board, and the Tipp City Planning Board. He received his bachelor’s degree in finance from Miami University and earned an MBA from Cleveland State University. He and his wife live in Tipp City and have three grown children
