Lunch & Learn Series - American Rescue Plan: Using Stimulus For Transformative, Valley-wide Projects

Tuesday, September 21, 2021 (11:30 AM - 1:00 PM) (EDT)

The approximately $250 million of American Rescue Plan (ARP) funding coming to the Valley will be the topic of conversation during the next Lunch & Learn presented by the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber and The Youngstown Foundation on Tuesday, Sept. 21, at the Youngstown Country Club.

Panelists include:

  • Terrence Slaybaugh, Vice President, Sites & Infrastructure, for JobsOhio, who will share JobsOhio's research into how ARP funds can be used and insight into discussions other communities throughout Ohio are having around leveraging ARP money to get even more resources.
  • Carol Rimedio-Righetti, Mahoning County Commissioner. As a former city councilwoman and current commissioner, Rimedio-Righetti brings two important perspectives to the discussion as counties and municipalities are receiving the largest allocations of ARP funds.
  • Cheryl Saffold, Warren City Councilwoman, has served on council for more than a decade and chaired several committees.
  • And, rounding out the panel, Jim Kinnick, Executive Director of the Eastgate Regional Council of Governments, whose organization consists of every local government in the Valley, has successfully helped the region maximize available state and federal resources.
  • Guy Coviello, President & CEO of the Regional Chamber, will serve as moderator. Coviello has facilitated Valley-wide meetings with public, private and philanthropic leaders to identify the region's priorities and explore potential collaboration using ARP funds.

The Regional Chamber and Youngstown Foundation have partnered to present the Lunch & Learn Series to stimulate thought and discussion on topics that impact the region.
