Clearing the Air: A Look at the Evolution of Workplace Drug Testing

This training session, facilitated by Ruth Bowdish, MSPsy, LICDC, CEAP, SAP, Managing Director at On Demand, will provide an in-depth overview of Ohio's marijuana laws, specifically focusing on the recent changes introduced by Issue 2. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how these laws impact workplace policies, employer rights and responsibilities. Additionally, the session will address the broader implications of rescheduling marijuana on workplace drug testing protocols and other substance-related concerns.

Objectives include:

1. Understanding the New Law (Issue 2): Gain a clear understanding of the provisions and implications of Ohio's Issue 2 regarding marijuana legalization.

2. Employer Rights and Responsibilities: Identify and articulate the rights and responsibilities of employers under the new marijuana laws, including maintaining a safe and productive workplace.

3. Implications of Rescheduling Marijuana: Analyze the potential impact of rescheduling marijuana on workplace drug testing policies and procedures.

4. Substance Use in the Workplace: Discuss the effects and impact of other substances on workplace safety and productivity, and understand best practices for addressing substance use among employees.
