May's Mahoning Valley Safety Council meeting features a keynote presentation from Timothy Dimoff, president & CEO of SACS Consulting. Tim is considered one of the nation's leading authorities in high-risk workplace and human resource issues. As a consultant to human resource directors, law enforcement and the media, Dimoff has been called upon to examine evidence from crime scenes and victims and develop offender profiles.

The ex-narcotics detective's career came to end in 1990 shortly after being injured in a drug raid gone bad. With a solid record of leadership and street smarts gained on the job, Dimoff decided to turn those into secrets of success for businesses. Dimoff began his business on familiar turf, office, and factory worker drug abuse cases. Soon he moved deeper into corporate security, anti-violence and identity theft assignments. His experiences in growing his company became the foundation for his compelling book, The You in Business: How to Build a Strong Business from the Inside Out.

The May MVSC meeting will also mark the presentation of the 15th annual Joan Kovach Safety Leadership Award, recognizing Valley businesses and individuals who have effectively transformed their workplaces from high-risk cultures to safety-driven environments funded and supported by executive management. The award is named in honor of Joan Kovach, a longtime safety advocate and owner of City Machine Technologies, Inc., until her death in 2006.
